I am a registered yoga teacher with 700+ hours of teacher training and a BA from Simon Fraser University. I have studied yoga therapeutics, alignment-based yoga, pre/postnatal yoga, restorative, yoga for trauma, breath and meditation.
My teaching focuses on alignment, deliberate sequencing and restoration. My students can expect attention to these things, following the simplicity of movement informed by intuition. I feel privileged to practice with students of all body types, ages and experience levels.
The first time I experienced yoga was in 2010. I had been suffering from back pain and neck stiffness for over a decade and turned to yoga as a 'last resort'. As it has been for so many, yoga was transformative for me: I learned how the practice could improve my physical health as well as its dynamic power. Beyond this simple and profound realization, I gained greater balance and clarity in my life. For me yoga has become a tool to pursue self awareness and heal. I’m a big fan of yoga’s ability to build communities. By learning from those around me and sharing the things that I have learned, I desire to effect change in others.
I live with my husband and our two children in Vancouver, B.C. I've lived here for 17 years. My time is divided between keeping up with my kids in their imaginative play, cooking for family & friends and running my own home yoga studio. I also enjoy music, water, sleep & sunshine.
